Marijuana Flowering Fertilizer
Once the cannabis plant is big enough to mature 12" or higher, dark periods must be introduced to start flowering and produce buds. You can bud or flower marijuana by starting dark cycles of about 11-13 hours to simulate oncoming fall as the days grow shorter. The only requirement is to keep the darkness period for flowering very dark with no light interruptions, as this can stall or slow flowering by days or weeks. At most fullmoon light is allowed. Usually growers put lamps on a timer, to create regular and timely dark periods. A few tips: 13 hours of light combined with 11 hours of darkness will increase flower size, but still allow the plant to go into the flowering. Apply longer dark periods for 8 to 10 days before harvest to speed maturity toward the end of the flowering cycle if you are in a hurry. Keep in mind it will reduce total yield.

What fertilizer to use when flowering marijuana
Fertilizing flowering marijuana is a must if you care for yield and potency. A high phosphorus plant food such as NPK 5 50 17 is used for blooming, budding and fruiting marijuana along with dark cycles. Keep supplying water diluted epsom salts for magnesium and sulfur minerals if your fertilizer doesn't include them. Trace minerals are usually included in marijuana flowering fertilizer.
Best marijuana flowering fertilizer
Flowering plants like very high phosphorus level and low nitrogen level foods, such as NPK 5-50-17, but 10-20-10 or 15-30-15 should be also ok. Nutrients should be provided with each watering at the beginning of flowering. Keep pruning to a minimum during the entire flowering phase. It is best to keep the dark hours a time when you would normally not wish to visit the garden. Flowering plants should not be sprayed often as this will promote mold and rot. Keep humidity levels down indoors when flowering, as this is the most delicate time for the plants in this regard.
Early flowering is noticed 1-2 weeks after switching the lights to 12 hour days and properly applying fertilizer for marijuana flowering. Look for 2 white hairs emerging from a small pit at every internode. This is the easiest way to verify females early enough to kill the males. Kill the males as you don't want them to pollinate your females in order to produce "cannabis seeds"->indoormarijuanaseeds.com You can not tell a male from a female by any other indicator. 3-6 weeks after shortening light period to 12 hours, your plants will be covered with these white pistils emerging from every growtip on the plant. Practically your cannabis females will be covered with them. These are the mature flowers, as they continue to grow and cover the plant. At the point you feel you are ready to make the existing flowers become ripe, meaning you feel the plant has enough flowers, cut the lights to 10 - 9 hours. Now the plant will start to ripen quickly, and should be ready to harvest in 2-3 weeks.
The alternative is to keep the plants on a constant 12 hour lightperiod for the entire flowering process, which may increase yield, but takes longer. Once the plant has almost reached its peak flower development, it is too far gone to revert quickly to vegetative growth, and final flowering will occur regardless you put it on 12, 10 or 8 hours of light period.
Look for the white hairs to turn red, orange or brown, and the false seed pods to swell with resins. Use a 30-75 power magnifying glass and check the trichomes and thc crystals on the plant. Depending on how you like your high, you would harvest them somewhere between the time they start to turn cloudy and the time they start to turn amber in color. When most of the pistils have turned color 80%, the flowers are ripe to harvest. Don't touch those buds! Touch only the large fan leaves if you want to inspect the buds, as the THC will come off on your fingers and reduce the overall yield if mishandled. After time and effort to grow you will want to cure it right so that it smokes clean and won't bite.
